Sure there is. Exterminate down to population one billion, implement replacement level reproduction limits and modify the basic workings of our economy to deal with both zero growth and with the rise of robots and automation replacing most labor needs. The big question then becomes who to keep. While radical, it would allow us to increase the likelihood of the long term survival of humanity. (Assuming you could still consider it humanity after such a “solution”!)

Same one actor says “we want peaceful relations with other states” which could be translated as “I want peace in my way with whom I choose with”.

We don’t want to upset the boat”.
English translation: We just want to own the whole boat.
