Had they not been so greedy for control of the obvious, perhaps so much bloodshed could have been avoided.
Iraq has never been a cohesive country, but rather a collection of interests; Sunni, Shia, Kurd etc. The only thing that has ever kept Iraq together since its actual establishment in 1958, was the iron hand of a despot who came to power in 1979. A despot the west armed and supported against Iran in this period.
Britain, France and the US have so much bloodshed to answer for, it is hard to fathom.

Let the Kurds have there pipe line via Turkey and there own state. The Saudi’s and Iran can come up with some sort of agreement to divide Irag into 2 countries west and east, one aligned with Saudi Arabia the other with Iran. It’s definitely time to go back to the 3 state solution idea.
