What alternate universe believes Trump is anti corruption? Earlier this month, with little fanfare, the administration announced that the United States was pulling back from commitments to the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), a consortium that, as Reuters described, “sets a global standard for governments to disclose their revenues from oil, gas, and mining assets, and for companies to report payments made to obtain access to publicly owned resources.” The extraction sector is still widely considered the most corrupt industry in the world, and the EITI – supported by more than 50 countries and the former Obama administration – remains on of the foremost groups tasked with ending trans-national corruption. — Reuters Business News November 2, 2017.

They then used Mobutu to give a safe haven to the UNITA terrorists in Angola, who would have taken the control if the Cubans had not intervened.

They don’t mind wading into sewers that angels would not go near and inconsequence they may get their hands around the supply of not just cobalt but a number of other rare metals which are showing promising results as battery alternatives.

Hopefully with Donald Trump’s new anti-corruption push in the US and new regulations relative to “clean cobalt” worldwide and in the DRC, things will improve from this point forward.
